We are The Dental team and our practice has been established here in South Kensington since the early 1960’s. We continue to help our patients achieve and maintain the fantastic, beautiful, healthy smiles that they have always dreamed of.

Our practice manager is Natalie Roach-Khan. The dentists are John Smith, Derek W Leigh, Pia Osterberg and Fernanda Sakamoto. Our hygienist is Marion Paterson. All of the dentists are long standing employes of The Dental Team with many years of experience. Our head dental nurse is Mie Ikubo. Our Implant team consists of Tom Gahan and Nick Mentz.
The eclectic combination of friendly dentists and dental nurses mean that the practice is multi-lingual, speaking English, Swedish, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese.
The majority of our patients remain in our care and continue to refer us to many of their friends, family and colleagues. As a result more than 85% of our patients are referred to us by existing patients.
John qualified in Dublin in 1977 and completed his master's degree in London University in 1997. Since he qualified he has worked in general dental practice in Ireland, Zimbabwe, Singapore and U.K. He has worked in the middle-east and in the dental schools in Dublin and London. He has participated in dental research projects in the U.K. and the U.S.A. He moved to London in 1987 and has been working in South Kensington since 1997.
Derek qualified in Sheffield. And has been working in London ever since. He was based in Knightsbridge since 1970 and moved his practice to South Kensington in 1990 and has been happily treating his patients here since then.
Pia Osterberg qualified as a dentist in Sweden in 1999. Having worked in Sweden for two years, she moved to London in 2001. Since arriving here she has worked in various private practices within the greater London area.
She joined The Dental Team in September 2010 and has been an absolutely fantastic addition to our team. Pia is a great believer in preventive dental care, and is always happy to help in any way to maintain or create a beautiful healthy smile for you.
Fernanda is Brazilian. She qualified in Brazil in 1999. She worked in Private Practice and a Community Centre in Brazil. She attained her BDS degree in England through the Overseas Examination Registration in 2009 at King’s College London and UCL. Her particular interests are preventative and restorative dentistry. She joined The Dental Team in October 2010 to replace a colleague who left to study for a master’s degree.
Marion qualified at the Royal Dental Hospital in London in 1972 and has worked in dental research projects at London University and also in general dental practice in central and north-west London. She joined The Dental Team in 2003.
Mie qualified and worked as a dental hygienist in Japan. She moved to the UK in 1998 and has been working as a dental nurse since then. She has been working with general dentists as well as specialists (periodontists and implantologists) since coming to London. She joined the dental team in 2003 and has been a great asset to the team.
Natalie started working in dentistry in 1999. She worked as a dental nurse until 2003. She then took on the role of receptionist. She joined the dental team in 2007 as our practice manager and gets on very well with all of our patients. She is responsible for arranging bookings, quotations and explaining treatments and treatment plans, as well as generally ensuring the smooth running of the practice.
